Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) is an annual herb in the family Apiaceae. It is also known as Chinese parsley, dhania, or cilantro. All parts of the plant are edible. Coriander seed possesses medicinal properties and has been used since time immemorial to treat disorders of the digestive, respiratory, and urinary systems. Cool and comparatively dry, frost free climate and well drained silt or loamy soils are suited for cultivation.
