Marigold, (genus Tagetes), genus of about 50 species of annual herbs of the aster family (Asteraceae). It is a common grown flower of India. It is a very important flower, as it is extensively used for religious and social function. Also it is used as a trap crop and it grows best on well drained fertile soil.
